A Senator's son has been taken as a prisoner of war in a Russian camp, so there's no way the Senator is letting this go without a search and rescue. You are going to have to sneak into the Ljady P.O.W. camp without setting off the alarm. Once inside, you are to salvage three men unharmed. Make sure your silencers are ready.

Night Vision

Another night mission means you need your night vision goggles to detect the enemy, but you do not need them for the first few minutes of the mission. You have to dodge the search lights before you can attack the guards. It is very difficult to see the search lights while wearing your night vision goggles, so do not put them on until you get to the prison wall. There is also a prison spotlight, so be sure to freeze when it points at you. When it moves away, run to the prison wall.

Remain Hidden

Go south to halfway between the first entrance and the search light tower at the corner. Make sure the guards cannot see you, but do not let yourself get caught in the search light. you are going to have to time your run, so wait until the search light starts coming back to the left. Run for the prison wall, and make sure you are close enough so that your Alpha teammates are not sticking out from the wall.

The alarm will be sounded if you are caught by the guards or the spotlight. The alarm does not go off until seven seconds after your team is detected. Shooting out the spotlight also sounds the alarm. Now comes a major confrontation. The enemies assume defensive positions close to the hostages. If the alarm is tripped during your escape, the guards will crowd out to the north and try to keep you from getting to the extraction zone.

Enter the Complex

There are two different gates that allow you to enter the complex. Enter through the second gate to the south, but not before you stop at the first gate and pay a visit to the guards there. Check again to be sure all your weapons have silencers, like an MP5-SD or an M9SD. You need to clear out the guards at the first gate so they are not there to cause problems for you when you come back.

There is a guard house at the end of each road. One is located opposite the prison entrance and one is near the eastern map border. If you stay clear, you can easily get by these guard houses. The guards from the southeast go out and patrol the woods, so remember that when you are on the way to the second entrance.

The second entrance has three guards at the gate, and two in the tower. You can use the shadows outside the street light to hide. Do not attack until all three guards are together, and if there is an enemy patrol inside the compound, do not shoot. If you are noticed by another patrol, the alarm will sound, and things get ugly. This is also true for one of the patrol guards, who is a runner, and run to the tower door when firing begins. You have to stop him, because this mission is about secrecy.

Once you get rid of the three guards at the gate, focus on the two guards in the tower. You may be able to take out these two from outside the prison, if your troops are good with their MP5-SDs. However, it is more likely that you silence your weapons and sneak in. Sneak up the stairs and take both guards out before they have time to react.

The P.O.W.s are defended by the majority of the enemies to the north. Go west. From the tower door, look over the area and take care of any enemies that appear. Sometimes there are two guards outside the door.

Hurry across the courtyard to the infirmary, as soon as the coast is clear. Two guards are holding Moroshkin at gunpoint. Slide to the main doorway to get a clear shot at the first guard. Moroshkin is directly behind the guard. Without delay, enter the room and eliminate the second guard, who is behind the curtains to the north. You have now rescued Moroshkin and accomplished the special objective, as long as he stays alive until the end of the mission!

Mission Part Two

You need to go out into the prison complex, but watch out for guards. The nearest buildings, the two barracks to the north provide cover. Look out for anyone watching you. There is a patrol on the main road to the northwest, by the P.O.W. pen. Hide from the patrol on the road, because it would be too easy for them to get the rest of the guards together. The patrol circles the barracks; hit them then. This is when you can eradicate the entire patrol with an attack from the corner, or when the guards have their backs turned close to the clothesline.

You need to be a good shot for this part of the mission. Watch the guards' path from outside the chain-link fence. It would be bad to start shooting them with the hostages in the middle, so wait until they stop on either side to have a chat. As soon as they are separate from the prisoners, shoot them, and do it promptly.

The east and northeast section of the compound is packed with guards. be cautious and the alarm should not trigger, so it will be a lot easier to get out. Make sure the two P.O.W.s are safe and go back the way you came. Do not shoot any enemies that may be along the chain-link fence. Run for the hills.

As you get away, send Bravo west of the insertion zone to the extraction zone. There are two patrols of three guards around the outside of the complex. You must try to detect these, as well as the guards on the inside. They catch you. Get Bravo to set up on the tree-filled perimeter in front of the extraction zone, so he can defeat anyone who tries to stop you.

Prisoners follow the soldier that rescued him, so if a soldier dies, you have to run into the prisoner with a new soldier so he continues to follow you.

The A.I. that controls the P.O.W.s and Moroshkin makes it easy to lose people. So go forward swiftly, but always check to be sure everyone is there. If a prisoner is lost, it may be hard to find him, or you may find him dead, and you have to start the mission again.

If Bravo does his job and gets rid of those who try to stop you, it should be an easy return trip. There could be danger on the western side, however, because none of your soldiers have been there yet. Guide the prisoners to the extraction zone, and the mission is complete.
