1. Barrel Shield Bust-Up, Kremwood Forest

WARP BARREL: This is the Warp Barrel that takes the longest amount of time to reach. When you pass the twin Green Buzzes swirling around a Banana Bunch, fall into the hole in the trunk floor ahead. If you land to the left of the invisible Auto-Fire Barrel which shoots you up to the next rope, you will find the Warp Barrel (a barrel in the background left of the Auto-Fire Barrel's position marks the Warp Barrel's true location). it is best to access this special Warp Barrel with a Helicopter Spin, as this will help avoid touching the Auto-Fire Barrel on the way down. If you Team Throw up and right to the right of the Goal Flag after the warp is complete, you will find a quick and easy way to the second Bonus Barrel! (See Bonus Area 2 for how to complete this Bonus Area and find it the standard, conventional way.) If you do not want to beat this Bonus Area yet, just press Left to drop down.

"K": Shortly before the first pack of Minkeys.

"O": Watch out for acorns when taking this letter.

"N": At the top of the second rope past the Star Barrel.

"G": Spring from the Pink Nid to get this.

DK COIN: it is SO easy to overlook Koin entirely while playing this hectic, challenging level. Right after the letter "N", execute a jumping upward Team Throw into the branches above the DK Barrel, then climb the next few branches to find Koin's hiding place inside the left tree trunk. Take the Steel Barrel and mow Koin down with it. Stand just in front of him to make sure he does not block your shot. When finished, blow open the right tree trunk's doorway with the TNT Barrel to continue on toward the Goal Flag.

BONUS AREA 1: Snatch up the first TNT Barrel and blast open the left side of the tree trunk, then hurry out and leap into the Bonus Barrel outside.

TO COMPLETE: Climb a Minkey-watched rope to the top of the tree trunk, get out of it, and plunge to the Bonus Coin. Without question, Dixie is best for this whole job, though you can complete it the hard way with Kiddy.

BONUS AREA 2: The conventional way to access this Bonus Area is very tricky. Should you survive the last Minkey assault, blow open the left wall with the third and final TNT Barrel for a secret obstacle course of short branches leading up to the level's fifth DK Barrel (no other level has more than four DK Barrels in it). Hit it if you lost your partner, switch to Dixie, and Helicopter Spin through every hole in the tree trunks right into the Bonus Barrel above and beyond the Goal Flag!

TO COMPLETE: Carefully dart up and down the rope to snag 15 Green Bananas and avoid the dastardly Minkeys who are throwing acorns at you. The Bonus Coin will appear where you started, so be careful climbing back down to it. Be sure to watch the timer!

Go right past a Sneek to bust the DK Barrel, then climb up the rope toward the (K). Next are the first (of many) sets of Minkies to contend with, so use the barrel shield as cover to bypass these coconut flinging baddies.

Move through the branches pasts Sneeks, entering a new hollow tree, moving up a rope past a set of Minkies via a barrel shield. Grab the Letter (O) en route to the next line-up of Minkies, but this time their pattern of throws dictate that the Kongs should climb up fast after the bottom Minkey throws, due to their progressive line throw pattern. A dual barrel shield set-up is next, hiding the Kongs from painful coconut peltings, followed up by going right under some Buzzes to find a hole in the bottom of the tree, which can be dropped through for a Bear Coin.

Grab the rope leading up, where a Minkey line throws in progression (so charge up after the bottom throws) to reach a TNT Barrel that should be tossed into the tree trunk wall on the left to bust a hole that leads to a Bonus Barrel.

Bonus Room #11
Find a Coin

Grab the rope and climb up, finding Minkies spaced out enough that the Kongs can stop in between each throwing primate. Once the top is reached, go right through the knothole in the tree, leaping downwards along the Banana trail to find the Coin!

Re-appearing while busting the Star Barrel, move right to defeat a Sneek, bust a DK Barrel, and then climb a rope while staying behind a moving barrel shield, which deflects all attacks from the coconut lobbing low brows. After moving through to the next tree, a moving barrel shield set of Minkies is followed closely by a second set of Minkies, these ones throwing in a progressive line (go past them as they throw just above your position). A third set is positioned immediately above, so use the barrel shield to get past them, followed by a saunter to the right to find a DK Barrel. Throw with Kiddy Kong, landing Dixie Kong on a branch above, which will lead to a tree opening where a Koin sits, so make use of the Steel Keg to bank it into the rear of Koin, releasing the DK Coin he holds!

Go right to use a TNT Bareel to blow a hole in the tree, climbing up to find and make use of the Nid to reach a height capable of leaping out to grab the Letter (G). The next tree has three sets of Minkies with a barrel shield to use as cover for progressing forward, reaching a TNT Barrel to break apart the wall. Climb the branches, put Dixie Kong on the lead (break the DK Barrel if needed for acquiring her), and make use of her Helicopter Spin to float through the knotholes to the right to reach a Bonus Barrel!

Bonus Room #12
Grab 15 Bananas

In this Bonus Room are some trouble causing Minkies, up to their usual tricks. The Kongs must climb in between their hurled fruit, grabbing the randomly appearing Green Bananas, then climb carefully to the bottom of the rope to snag the Bonus Coin... all before time epxires! Only move for a Banana if the Minkies appear to have left an opening, as one hit will end your Coin chance! Upon re-appearing, grab the rope to finish the level!

2. Riverside Race, Kremwood Forest

Beating the time at the bottom of the screen (1:15:00) will cause something wonderful to happen on the overworld, but doing the timed run while grabbing the Bonus Coins and DK Coins is too hectic, so the first portion of the walkthrough will cover the effort to move quickly through the level, while the second portion of the walkthrough will describe where to find the Bonus Coins/DK Coin.

WARNING!!! 1: The swarm of tiny red defeater bees chasing you will sting you if they touch you, so keep moving to save yourselves. Remember that the bees cannot get you when you are swimming in the water.

WARNING! 2: Brash Bear has a course record of 1:15:00 (one minute and fifteen seconds) in this level. If you are trying to beat his time, do not stop for any Bonuses or the DK Coin — JUST KEEP RUNNING!!!

WARP BARREL!: This Warp Barrel is the game's hardest to get to without losing a partner (in my opinion, this Warp Barrel is so hard to reach that it is not worth getting). Give Kiddy the reins from the very start before doing anything else. When you come to the first water pool, have Kiddy hoist Dixie on his shoulders and spring up and right off the edge of the land as he throws Dixie up and right — all without being swarmed by defeater bees. do not think that this will count to beating Brash's record — it will not. Not by a LONG shot.

"K": Use Re-koil as a step, but do not jump into his face!

"O": Watch out for bees!

"N": Right before a trio of Red Buzzes. After getting the letter, swim down to the "!" Barrel, then use its power to bounce from the triple Buzzes onto higher ground. Scamper over to the Bonus Barrel atop the summit, climb up to it, and jump on into the Bonus Barrel before your invincibility disappears!

"G": There is no way short of the Warp Barrel to avoid this underwater letter.

DK COIN: Go past the Goal Flag to escape the bees, then run left as Kiddy (hope there aren't any Sneeks to slow you down), keeping ahead of the bees as you Water Skip left and up to Koin's perch, then take him out with the Steel Barrel (you should be getting used to the up and over method unless instructed otherwise). If you are climbing the ledge to get to Koin and you lose a partner, just keep climbing until you reach Koin. NEVER GIVE UP!

BONUS AREA 1: Water Skip across the second water pool after squishing the Sneek first and repeatedly mash the B Button to climb up to a high hill with the Bonus Barrel high up in the air. Jump into it!

TO COMPLETE: Gobble up the 15 Bananas in a water pool with a Green Koco before you run out of time. do not touch the Koco if you know what's good for you.

BONUS AREA 2: See "N"

TO COMPLETE: Carefully Roll or Spin into the four Re-koils before time runs out for your Bonus Coin.

Without Coins

Run right, rolling through a couple Sneeks, followed up by motoring across a shallow pond. Go past a Rekoil and a Sneek, sinking into the next pond to swim through a narrow underwater cave to reach the next surface area. Pass under the Letter O (at which point the swarm of bees returns) to bounce off of one Rekoil, then roll through a second one to enter another pond where a Red Koco is patrolling near an underwater passage that leads to the Star Barrel (the default record for this point is at 0:35:00).

Swim out of the pond and onto land, motoring right to bounce off of two Rekoils, then a quick swim to get past a shallow pond. Immediately dive into the next pond, swimming above the red Koco before diving to the next underwater way, surfacing at the next pond to leap over the three green Kocos and then onto dry land, but further complicating things is the swarm of bees that will be after you as soon as the Kongs approach the Kocos (so be swift or get caught).

Continue on to the right past two Rekoils to enter another pond where a green Koco guards another underwater cave, which leads to one last pond exit to sprint right (roll through the three Sneeks) to reach the flag to end the race. If your time is under 1:15:00, then the Kongs are all ready to go ruin Brash Bear's day. If not, try again, making smoother moves (particularly underwater) to reduce the time, getting under that 1:15:00 mark.

Bonus Coin Collection

Upon reaching the second pond in the level (on the run from a swarm of bees), be sure to have Kiddy Kong leading the way, as he is needed to perform his water skipping jump to reach the ledge across the water, which gains acces for the Kongs to a Bonus Barrel.

Bonus Room #13
Grab 15 Bananas

A solo green Koco sits stationary in the water, so swim and jump past this annoyance carefully to reach the Green Bananas where they appear, moving to the right side of the area to get the Bonus Coin after the 15th unripened fruit is garnered.

After the Star Barrel in the second pond [the one below the Letter (N)], drop down to the bottom of the water on the left side of the area to find an Exclamation Point Barrel, which will turn the Kongs invincible. Swim right to see three red Buzzes, which should be used to bounce up to reach a ledge above that leads to the Bonus Barrel.

Bonus Room #14
Bash the Baddies

Here are four Rekoils, which are just begging to be bashed, so do so, making use of controlled roll attacks (defeat one and then pull back, repeating as necessary) to knock them all down, earning the Bonus Coin.

DK Coin Collection

After passing through the underwater cave with the Letter G in it, get out of the pond, run right for a bit, then stop and leap to the left, passing over the swarm of bees. With Kiddy Kong in the lead, run left, performing a water skipping double hop across the water, reaching the ledge where a Steel Keg sits. Grab the Steel Keg, leap into the air, and throw it behind Koin to let the hill rebound the weapon into Koin's unprotected backside, releasing the DK Coin.

3. Squeals on Wheels, Kremwood Forest

WARP BARREL: Bash the first Sneek, scurry through the newly-opened doorway, and pitch Dixie straight up upon passing through it. If she jumps as she throws Kiddy upward, Dixie can reach this Warp Barrel too.

"K": cannot miss it.

"O": In the left-hand passage below the second rope. Watch out for Sneek.

"N": Just beyond the only two Green Buzzes in the stage.

"G": Use Parry to deflate the Booty Bird hanging on to this letter.

DK COIN: The only two Green Buzzes in the level guard the means to reach Koin: a Sneek-occupied dynamo wheel. Whack the three baddies with a Steel Barrel, then jump on top of the wheel. Have Kiddy jump and throw Dixie into the upper-right corner. Koin waits here. Take a nearby Steel Barrel and let him have it.

BONUS AREA 1: With the "O" collected, pick up the regenerating Steel Barrel nearby and ride the upcoming wooden platform until you have enough height to bash the Sneek in the dynamo wheel to your left. Hop up onto the empty wheel and from there, jump to the upper-left passage and hop into the Bonus Barrel at the top.

TO COMPLETE: Use the twin dynamo wheels as platforms to nab 20 Stars. do not fall off.

BONUS AREA 2: Not long after you hit the Continue Barrel, smack the twin Sneeks out of their dynamo wheels with the regenerating Steel Barrel. Go onward for the last DK Barrel (do not forget to dispatch the Re-koil and the Sneek guarding it), then backtrack to the empty dynamos. Get Kiddy onto the lower wheel and pitch Dixie up and right onto the upper wheel without jumping. Enter the upper path and there's your Bonus Barrel.

TO COMPLETE: Grab 15 Bananas without slipping off the dynamos or fully wearing down the timer, hopping to the right side of the chasm when the Bonus Coin appears there.

In this level, the meters along the wall must be turned all green to open the door, and the process of turning the meters green is accomplished by defeating the Sneeks that inhabit the area.

Move right, destroying the Sneek, then go through the open door to find a DK Barrel, followed up by a Sneek guarding a rope leading toward the ceiling. Jump right, defeat a Rekoil, then defeat two Sneeks with Steel Kegs en route to another Rekoil guarding a platform that moves up and down. After riding the platform, go left to locate and throw a Steel Keg into a Sneek being hovered around by two indestructable red Buzzes, then continue on to the left to bust up a Rekoil. Follow that up by leaping to the ledge on the left, finding a Steel Keg to hit the Sneek in the wheel on the left, leaving a leap onto the wheel and past the red Buzz to the high ledge on the left, finding a rope leading up.

Continue to the left, plucking a Steel Keg to use on a wheeled Sneek, then use the empty wheel to leap to the ledge above where a Bonus Barrel floats nearby.

Bonus Room #15
Collect 20 Stars

In this Bonus area, careful leaps across the wheels of the Sneeks is the path to take, as the Stars float over the chasm and wheels below. Take your time, progressing steadily right, getting the Bonus Coin easily.

Make use of that rope leading up, moving right to defeat a Sneek to open a door that leads to two more Sneeks that need exterminating via the Steel Keg treatment. Move right to defeat a Rekoil, busting the DK Barrel right after (if needed), then backtrack to the wheels you just cleared, and have Kiddy Kong throw Dixie up to the second wheel, which can be leapt off of to the next ledge where a Bonus Barrel awaits entry.

Bonus Room #16
Grab 15 Bananas

Two Sneeks move their wheels over a chasm (sound familiar?), so make use of careful leaps to get over whichever wheel is under the current Green Banana, collecting 15 of them for the Bonus Coin.

Once the two Kongs re-appear, move right to grab a Steel Keg, then jump onto the rising platform, and throw the Steel Keg between the red Buzzes to defeat a Sneek (if the throw fails, fall back down and try again till you get that Sneek), and then ride the plaform up to the next ledge. Make use of the Steel Keg here to clear away the green Buzzes and the Sneek, then have Kiddy Kong leap onto the wheel, grab Dixie Kong, and then hurtle her toward the ledge above on the right to find Koin and a Steel keg, just begging for a rebound throw to get that DK Coin.

Continue on to the left to find a Steel Keg, which should be carried under two red Buzzes to throw at a Sneek, then go left to use the next Steel Keg on a Sneek guarded by two red Buzzes. To the left is a Blast Barrel, landing the Kongs on a moving platform, which the pair should leap off to the left for a Steel Keg to use on the nearby Sneek. Move right to climb the rope up, leaping off of the wheel to the next ledge, where the Kongs will grab the Steel Keg and turn to fire it off the Sneek inside the wheel they just leapt off of. Move right under the two red Buzzes and the Sneek to find a Steel Keg that has the Sneek's name written all over it (well not really, but you get the idea here).

Ride the platofmr up, moving left to find a Steel keg to use on one last Sneek guarded by two red Buzzes, opening the nearby door to a trap door for the Kongs to leap onto that drops them all the way through the area they just climbed up, reaching the open door leading toward the exit. Hit the Animal Crate inside to release Parry the Parrallel Bird, then run right, defeating the Booty Bird for the Letter (G) and hopping to time the movement of Parry over the red Buzz above, allowing Parry to be turned into a Blue Balloon, just in time for the Kongs to reach the finishing flag.

4. Springin' Spiders, Kremwood Forest

WARP BARREL: Below the first Bristles. Roll Jump or Spin Jump left to it from the shorter right platform. You could also jump and throw either Dixie or Kiddy straight up when you are to the left of the second Yellow Nid (the first inside a tree trunk).

"K": Not hard to get.

"O": From where you come out of Bonus Area 1, bean the Green Buzz in the upper-left corner for a Banana Bunch, then proceed down the trunk with caution, sniping the next Green Buzz you come to (he is to your right and inside the tree). Get out of the trunk and swoop up to the upper-right corner of the outside of the trunk for the cleverly-concealed letter "O."

"N": There are TWO paths to this letter. Path One has you follow the Bananas past a Red Buzz and leave the tree trunk. Step on the Knik-Knak. Path Two is trickier. Leap over the aforementioned Red Buzz (preferably with a Helicopter Spin, of course) and let the Pink Nid to his left launch you up to an upper passage leading outside, where the "N" is placed. A Red Balloon and a TNT Barrel are down lower. The TNT Barrel is for demolishing the right edge of the tree to open a secret hole shortcut.

"G": After escaping the final Green Buzz (who moves back and forth), use the level's only Swoopy to access this letter shortly before Bonus Area 2.

SQUAWKS (GREEN) BARREL: Instead of following the curved five-Banana line over the first outside gap after the "K", fall through the space to the Yellow Nid below. The Squawks Barrel is to the left of this Yellow Nid.

DK COIN: You need both apes with Kiddy in the lead before mounting the third Pink Nid after the Continue Barrel. Once on board, use Kiddy to jump and throw Dixie up and left at the apex of the springin' spider's jump, onto a small shelf jutting out of the left wall (do not fall on the Red Buzz.). Switch to Dixie, grab the Steel Barrel, and throw it left through the doorway on the upper left, and wait for the projectile to whack Koin away. Switch back to Kiddy, and hurl Dixie up and through the doorway. It is a simple matter of getting the DK Coin. Use the TNT Barrel to blast the left trunk open and continue on your way.

BONUS AREA 1: GET SQUAWKS FIRST. That way, you will have no trouble finding this Bonus Area. From where you came out of the Squawks Barrel, fly up to an upper trunk hole leading to a huge stockpile of Bananas and a hidden pair of Bear Coins. After getting everything, fly through the hole in the right side of the tree trunk and go up to bonk a Green Buzz with an egg from inside the trunk (not even from inside the hole itself, as your egg will be deflected if you are not fully inside the trunk). Flap left out of the tree and up into the Bonus Barrel outside.

TO COMPLETE: You need to fly carefully around the stationary Red Buzz at the top of the trunk and nab 15 Bananas. To reach the Bonus Coin without getting cut down by the moving Red Buzz, wait for him to fly out of the way, then drop down.

BONUS AREA 2: When done grabbing the "G," drop back down, run to the right, past the Pink Nid, and fall directly into the Bonus Barrel far below.

TO COMPLETE: With the help of Nid, bag 30 Stars before all of the time runs off the clock. In as few as two passes, Kiddy's bigger body helps him grab Stars faster, but some might prefer using Dixie's trusty Helicopter Spin to slice through the Stars outside the trunk in one fell swoop as she descends. Who do you like to use?

In this level, the bouncing Nids will help the Kongs reach areas they could not otherwise climb to, so make use of these springy fellows. Head right (using the Nid to get the DK Barrel) to start climbing up a tree, dealing with Bristle and a red Buzz. After a quick Nid trip, a Sneek greets the Kongs as they re-enter the same tree further up, jumping up to grab a Barrel, which can be used on a green Buzz above to allow access to the Bear Coin it is hiding. After that is a back and forth Nid that is needed to reach the high ledge, which is where the (K) rests.

Head out of the tree, taking note of a Nid down below. meaning that the Kongs should drop into the hole. An Animal Barrel rests on the branch below that turns the two Kongs into Squwaks. Fly up and to the right, following a Banana trail to two invisible Bear Coins, then backtrack slightly to find a knothole leading out of the tree. Go up and defeat the green Buzz to move left to find a Bonus Barrel, but you may want to fly up past another green Buzz (defeating it) to grab the (O) first.

Bonus Room #17
Grab 15 Bananas

Here are two red Buzzes, one guarding the way top the top of the tree, the second firmly parked in the middle of the top area. Fly on by the first mechanical terror, then fly carefully around the second red Buzz as you collect the randomly appearing green bananas. Once 15 have been bagged, fly down into the bottom area (carefully, or you may clip the red Buzz that the Kongs passed earlier) to snage the Bonus Coin.

Fly up to the No Animal Sign (bye bye Squwaks), moving left past two green Buzzes via a hopping Nid, then work up past the green Buzzes with more Nid assistance. Next up is a red Buzz to bypass with a well-timed hop, then use the next Nid to reach the Star Barrel. Moving right will reveal a Nid/red Buzz combo that can be used to reach an invisible Bear Coin along the trunk on the left (leap toward the top-left chunk of the area), then a DK Barrel in the next tree has a series of Nids waiting to carry the Kongs up. Upon reaching the final Nid (a red Buzz hovers between the Nid and the closest ledge), take control of Kiddy Kong and team up with Dixie. Up and to the left to reach the barely visible ledge. Grab the Steel Keg, throw it through the knothole above, and let it crank Koin, then team throw through the same knothole to go claim the DK Coin.

To continue onward, move left to use the TNT Barrel on the tree, climbing up the tree past a Bristle and a red Buzz, arriving at a gap with a Knick-Knack and the (N). If you are an expert thrower, a Red Balloon can be grabbed above the Knick-Knack, but to advance the next tree must be entered, using Nids to avoid the barrage of Buzzes. A Bristle awaits the Kongs on the branches, segueing the level into another Nid/Buzz tree climbing portion. Upon reaching the top of this segment of the tree, move right, ignoring the Nid, to run off of the ledge to fall into a Bonus Barrel.

Bonus Room #18
Collect 30 Stars

Use the Nid to reach the ledge above (collecting a few Stars on the way), then jump out to the right, falling through a line of Stars. If necessary, go for a second leap off the branch, but if you were crooked in your fall, then getting the rest in the time remaining will be tough, so go straight down on your leaps to ensure efficient coverage of the Star area.

Upon materializing, jump the red Buzz to start the typical Nid hop and then red Buzz leap combo, followed by moving up to grab the finishing flagpole.

Brash's Cabin

If you broke his Riverside race time, he throws a temper tantrum. The log near the path toward the next level will fall into the fast flowing water, getting wedged at a point where two paths look across a stretch of water at one another.

5. Bobbing Barrel Brawl, Kremwood Forest

WARP BARREL: At the first Red Buzz (who has a Booty Bird flying right above him), use Kiddy to jump and hurl Dixie up and right, directly above the Booty Bird, to enter the final Warp Barrel in the game. If you wish to destroy the baddies before liftoff (or you came into the level without a buddy), here's how to make it all work. Heft the nearby DK Barrel, jump, and throw it up to this first Booty Bird to divebomb the Red Buzz with a TNT Barrel. Go get your letter "K" if you do not need the Warp Barrel.

"K": See Warp Barrel.

"O": No difficulty grabbing this.

"N": You will need to make a Steel Barrel platform first.

"G": Easy to find. Just grip a regenerating Normal Barrel to shield yourself from the incoming Krimp.

ELLIE BARREL: cannot get past this.

DK COIN: Use Ellie's suction to capture the regenerating Steel Barrel to the left of the moving Red Buzzes you vaulted over to get here and throw it right over Koin without hitting even one of the three Red Buzzes in any way, or you will have to retrieve a new Steel Barrel and try again.

BONUS AREA 1: Use your water attack to wash away the Booty Bird above the Red Buzz blocking the Bonus Barrel. When the resulting TNT explosion incinerates the mecha-bug, leap into the Bonus Barrel.

TO COMPLETE: Use the Barrel provided to make two platforms by throwing them up so they land and bob in the water instead of sink to the bottom. To do this, grab the first Barrel and make a step out of it below the left end of the Banana trail. After this, snatch up the respawning Barrel, jump onto your new platform, and make a second step to your right, trying to follow the Banana line to its right end. Leap to this new platform and onto dry land, where your Bonus Coin will be waiting. do not forget the timer.

BONUS AREA 2: When you get to this, you will immediately see that Ellie floats in water and cannot get this Bonus Barrel without help. Go right until you see a Knik-Knak skittering toward you. Go back to the left and get out of his way as he and another of his kind crawl to the left. In seconds, the two bugs will position themselves in midair above you. Carefully go up and right without hitting the lower Knik-Knak. Once in position, use the Knik-Knaks to your left as a staircase for enough height to crash down through the waters and enter the Bonus Barrel.

TO COMPLETE: How fast can you get 10 Stars without running out of time or footing? The game is likely to slow down a bit here, so do not let that throw off your jumps.

Go right, grabbing the DK Barrel to throw into the Booty Bird above the red Buzz to reveal a TNT Barrel that will destroy the red Buzz, leaving the (K) as easy pickings. A pond is next, but do NOT go swimming (or in any other pond in this level) or Nibbla will take a huge bite out of a Kong. Use the Blast Barrel to reach an Animal Barrel, becoming Ellie.

A couple Krimps are ahead, followed by bobbing barrels in the water, so jump onto the first one, press the L Button to fill up Ellie's trunk, then press the R Button to shoot the green Buzz with the water. Cross over the remaining threshold, snagging the (O) on dry land, then leap onto a Steel Keg to shoot a Booty Birds, who drops the second Steel keg to finish the crossing of this pond. Next is a Blast Barrel to enter, clearing the water ahead, but once across turn to the left to shoot a Booty Bird that hovers over a Red buzz, as the Booty Bird will drop a TNT Barrel, destroying the red Buzz and allowing access to the Bonus Barrel it was guarding.

Find The Coin

In here is a pond with no way to cross, so use Ellie's ability to throw barrels by grabbing one, pressing UP and then releasing the Y Button to send it into the water. Next is a grabbing of the replenished Barrel, leaping onto the first Barrel, and then a repeat throw, which will allow Ellie to leap across the pond to the waiting Bonus Coin.

Head right once back in the main level, leaping onto floating barrels to cross the pond, but avoiding the green Buzz in the process. Two red Buzzes are next, showing very poor survival instincts as they hang around a replenishing supply of TNT Barrels (demonstrate how silly their actions are by annihalating them), then move right to bounce off of a Knick-Knack to snag a Bear Coin. To the right is another pond requiring some barrel placement to cross, then a Krimp guards the way forward to a leap over two red Buzzes. Use the Y Button suction pull on the Steel keg below two said red Buzzes, then move right to throw it over the Koin and below the red Buzz to rebound defeat Koin to get the DK Coin.

Next up is a Star Barrel, then an empty pond, which is followed by a Steel keg toss into the pond below, where the (N) awaits as the Kongs traverse the stretch of Nibbla infested water. A green Buzz sits over a small puddle next, so jump on by to leap to a Steel Keg where Ellie should blast the Booty Bird above to complete the Barrel pathway to the far side of the collection of water. Cross the next pond, moving right till two Knick-Knacks appear (DO NOT defeat them), get onto the ledge on the right, and run left to bounce off of them toward the last pond, using the momentum to sink deep enough into the water to reach the Bonus Barrel.

Bonus Room #20
Collect 10 Stars

In a rather simple Bonus Coin challenge, hop across the three Steel Kegs while collecting all 10 Stars en route to the Bonus Coin location on the right side of the area.

A Steel keg awaits Ellie, so use it to cross the pond, finding a DK Barrel and a Krimp before a long leap to a floating Barrel in the next pond. Use a water squirt on the Booty Bird to release a Steel Keg, then waste the green Buzz to finish the crossing of the troubled waters to defeat a green Buzz via a suction of a Barrel OR a water squirt. Jump the Krimp that is next, snagging the (G), then blow over one more waterhole while defeating green Buzzes, reaching the finishing flagpole for this insanely over-complicated level.

Banana Bird #4

Upon crossing the river via the log Brash laid down, you will have found another of those elusive Banana Birds. Enter the random set of buttons laid out by the coloured crystals, completing a successful chain of five to free the odd yet beautiful creature.

6. Arich's Ambush, Kremwood Forest

Arich: do not be too hasty in trying to crush this super-sized spider, or you will be done in. Smash four Barrels under his chin to silence him. The first Barrel is on top of him, then they start appearing on the upper-right branch (be quick in getting them or Arich will spit a Barrel-breaking blob of spider spit at you). do not jump on top of him to get your Barrels until he lands on the ground first, as his claws will harm you and shatter your Barrels. Get the Barrel, carefully drop down, and break your barrel on his jaw as he pounces on you (his pounces get faster with each hit). After another hit, Arich changes his tactics.

Before dropping down, he will spit three blobs of goo that bounce off the walls. When the blobs are gone, evade Arich's blitz and get the Barrel and hide from another shower of spitballs. When he descends, hit him in the jaw again. Dodge FIVE blobs, then climb up and snag your Barrel. Once the next five blobs have left the screen, stand by to deliver the final blow to Arich. This fourth hit will put him down for the count. Take the Patch he gives you to Funky's Rentals and get the Hovercraft and access Cotton-Top Cove and Mekanos.

Cross over to the left side of the room, leap onto the creature's head to get the Barrel, and then o underneath his legs and cream his underbelly for a hit. Repeat the pattern (though the Barrel on a higher ledge) once more, causing Arich to start spitting globules of venomous acid, but a safe spot to hide is in the bottom right corner. Once this ends, go do the leap off of his body to the Barrel way up high, and then drop down quickly to hide in the corner again, before emerging from the small safe spot to hit the abdomen of the big red spider for the third time. After this, repeat the same hide, emerge for a Barrel, hide again, and then hit him once more to score the victory. In addition to playing exterminator however, a Patch will be looted from the defeated Arachnid, so best head back to Funky straight away.

Get to Funky straight away. Head to Funky's and he will upgrade your boat to a hovercraft. Float over those pesky rocks that blocked your way before. First, head south and fly over the rocks back to the starting point of this game. Then, head north and you will notice a small beach. Head inside the triggered cave, Kong Cave, to receive another opportunity at a Banana Bird.

Banana Bird #5

North of the starting position of this game is a beach. Enter this beach and open up the cave. Head inside and four colored crystals will display. Enter the combination just as it was played for you, and you will win a Banana Bird for your intelligence. Move along, as we still have a lot of work to do. Head up from Funky's and to the west. Head inside the world, Cotton-Top Cove, and then ignore Blue. Swim through the water and enter the first level.
