Time to enter civilization. Your duties this time around is to stop a bank robbery. The place is full of snipers (in the structures) and a tank rolls around looking for Ghost defeats. Time to pound the pavement.
Mission Objectives
- Free the Bank
- Check Crash
- Return to Drop Zone
- X. Zero Civilian Casualties
Hit The Streets
This is a much different hunting ground than the forests and ruins of bases. Structures can easily house snipers. Always keep eyes up for that. Use cars and structures as cover and do not feel as if you are safer in the concrete jungle than the real. You are going to have five chances to fail at the bonus. At different parts of the stage civilians will cross you path, even your gunsights. Stay wary of them if you want to score the extra Ghost.
Your first resistance will be a 5 man patrol that does a patrol around the structure directly in front of you then on to the bank in an "8" shape. Try to find the machine gunner of the crew and be sure to hit him first. Sniping is best. When he falls be wary of enemies taking cover behind cars or trying to double back on you. Be sure not to hit the commander. He walks about 10 feet ahead of everyone else. Let him continue out of site before you dust the others. If you spring too early he alerts the rest of the patrols.
Move to the left of the first structure and approach the bank on the side that is the farthest away from the main doors. You need to try and keep the occupants of the bank from detecting you. Once you are at the street corner, have your sniper look to the second story. Perched there are 2 snipers, machine gun style. Sneak around the side of the structure being very careful not to expose yourself. Zoom in on the first window and edge toward it until you can see a small part of the sniper. Take him out then edge around to do the same to the second. Remember, they do not have to be in full view to be hit.
Edge back to the bank's main door with a grenade ready. Lob a grenade into the main lobby without being in front of the doors. The blast should defeat a good number of the hostiles. There is a chance that 2 or more could have took cover so enter and scout. Tossing another grenade in the back never hurts either. Keep an eye on the threat meter. Since you have taken out the sniper there should be no need to go upstairs. If not, then sweep the area until the objective complete message appears.
Taking The Shady Route Out
When you head out of the bank's back door there is an alley. Taking the alley you miss several enemies patrolling an underground parking lot.
Keep going north in the alley, heading left when it goes into a "T" type section. Ahead of you is the downed helicopter. Cross the street, entering the alley to the north. Time this crossing correctly. There's a five person team patrolling back and forth between the extraction zone and the hotel to the north.
Continue north up this alley until you hit a wooden divider in the street. There is a patrol here. Time to do some cramped quarters combat. Keep you aiming icon in the middle of the street ahead. As soon as a soldier passes in front of you, open fire. The others follow, and as soon as you see them, open heavy machine gun fire. Be sure to watch you back because the patrol behind you may try to flank you if you did not take them out before.
The Helicopter is in a part that is to the extreme north. Sprint to the site being careful of snipers and examine the fallen pilot. As soon as you confirm his condition, objective number two is done. Be sure to get out of there and seek immediate cover. it is an area with almost no protection from any side.
Embassy Entrance
Return to the first alley you entered. At the T section go right. When the alley ends drop down to your crawl. You need to circle around the corner and snipe two guards there. When they fall, pull back and crouch in the alleyway. Center aim on the Embassy and track your sight to the archway and then the fire escape. Since your last attack has alerted the soldiers in the Embassy, you must pan from the archway to the fire escape and blast anyone who emerges. If you miss anyone, stick to the target and wait about 10 seconds. They will re-emerge at that time.
On the Embassy grounds you are going to have to contend with a four man patrol and multiple snipers on the roof. Continue to snipe and take out the snipers first if possible. Be sure to watch the fire escape for any remaining soldiers that come at you as you fire on the snipers. As soon as you defeat all seven you can move from the alley to the Embassy grounds. Keep keen as you approach. There are going to be reinforcements if you did not stop to defeat the 5 man team at the northeast ruined structure. (we slipped past them if you followed the guide exactly) Move one team at a time with the other covering them as you move onto the Embassy's roof. Catch the helicopter and take a breather.
