You must be pleased with yourself after defeating and capturing so many Russians on the first day of work. This time you are out to rescue a Pilot and Weapons Officer of a downed F18. Best yet, you must blow up the F18 to keep the technology away from the Russians. Strap on the Night Vision and pick your troops. Night mission Eager Smoke is on.

This mission can be tricky until you get used to looking through the night vision goggles. Take your Alpha Team and head East. Keep East until you hit a crude fence. The Fence runs all the way down to a stream in the South East corner and is a pretty patrol free area. There may be some minor resistance on the way so keep your sniper ahead and very open eyed. As you come to cross the stream it is crawling time. Crawl up the hill until you see an Alabama Palace. This Barn holds many soldiers, one hostage, and one hundred ways to die.

To tackle the barn you are going to have to be patient. There are three soldiers who are very easy to tip off. On the right side there are a couple guys talking. They pace the right wall and may disappear behind the barn sometimes as well. there is another soldier on the left in an animal pen, and if you are lucky one will be visible inside the barn at times. defeating these guys will not be especially easy. If you rush one, they all are going to come at you. there is no easy way to do it, so buckle down for some fire and clever rushing. The best tactic is to snipe the to the left and then immediately run to the right side of the barn as cover. Keep the barn walls as a shield and blast the other as they round the corner, or if they do not come directly after you and break for the woods, use the wall as cover to snipe.

While all this is going on, one of the soldiers in the barn is going to take to the loft and snipe. He is taken care of later. Rush your Bravo team to the barn wall with you. On the road to your right, enemies patrol and can really mess this up fast. As you bring Bravo up, be sure to watch the road and move on anyone there if they appear. Remember to keep Bravo outside the barn, As they are on the way, keep Alpha's sniper trained on the loft window sniper. As soon as he peeks, take him out. He can defeat at least 2 of Bravo as they move in. Bravo is going to stay here a while and if did not take out the road troops, they will do it later.

it is time to take the barn and free the hostage. Take Alpha to the back of the barn. While you are on your way, have your sniper zoom in on the top window. You are going to have to defeat this guy fast then almost immediately, pan down and defeat another guy who will be standing near the open door.

Inside the barn is hopefully the last of the barn's protectors. Slide against the left wall until he appears. Time for Mr. Sniper to earn more food stamps. If the hostage stands up, you have freed the pilot. If he stays seated that means you missed someone and the barn is still occupied. Get the guy to stand and then you are off.

Welcome Home Redneck

With the pilot in tow, it is time to move to the farmhouse and free the weapons officer. Wake Bravo up and move down to the right of the road. If Bravo defeated the patrol you are in good shape. If not, they will be near the road and will have to be delt with. Two soldier patrols are in the woods west of the road ahead as well. Some players will get past them with no contact, but it takes luck to evade them completely. Stay to the right of the road to avoid western patrols. Move both teams to the field on the east side of the house when you arrive. When you get to the field, send Alpha behind one of the large hay bails there. Bravo needs to remain in the bushes. (keep the pilot in Bravo)

Using the hay as cover. Take your sniper and remove as many soldiers as possible. Pay careful attention to the porch, as you can get a couple soldiers and very long range. Pick the remainders off with a machine gun (OICW) and be sure to clear all of the eastern side.

When clear, move to the porch and begin a run onto the west side. There are two enemies on the road, and possibly any remainders from your long range attempts through the porch. These guys do not care to toss a grenade you way so take them out quickly.

Move to the door of the house and get ready to do a dirty trick. The hostage is on the second floor, so open the door and pump a grenade into the house! Take cover and hope that the blast takes out both 1st floor soldiers. If not, clean them out and move upstairs very slowly. In the upper hallway a soldier is cleverly hidden just behind a doorway to the far right. Get as much as him in your scope as possible and blow him away. Make your way slowly into the corner and scan the hallway. You'll see the second hostage sitting in what looks like an empty room. We know better than that though. Just inside the doorway and to the left, a soldier is waiting for you. Do not use a grenade this time! Move very slow down the hall until you can see even the smallest bit of him. When you do, take him out and the Weapons Officer is freed.

Go Out With a Bang

Get the hostages back to the drop zone and toast the crashed F18. Throw the Weapons Officer in Bravo with the Pilot then head toward the northwest, taking cover behind the hay bails as you progress. There are two patrols. One before the F18, and one watching over it. Be sure to take the first team out and not get both of them on you at once. Take out both teams and then send in your demolitions man to set the charges.

Get back to the drop zone and get the cigars. As you head back, stay on the northern rim and go directly to the drop zone. There are some patrols in the area so keep the hostages in Bravo and safely behind Alpha. Nothing could be worse than them both dying at this point. There is little resistance on the way 3 to 4 soldiers max. Once you hit the DZ it is all over for Mission 2.
