Invasion - Walkthrough
As soon as the level begins, turn left and fire one bullet into the barrel of dynamite to destroy it and take out the three enemies nearby. There are a couple more enemies you will run into before reaching a branch in the path. The path to the left leads to the rest of the level, but you can get some extra ammo (and find an offering from Lazarus) by heading right first.
After utilizing the offering, turn back and enter the small tunnel that branches off the main path. there is ammo in the tunnel you should grab before finding the lone enemies perched at the ledge ahead. Two more enemies are waiting below, though even more will spawn as you drop down.
Watch for an Oozer to come from the path to the left once you drop down to the lower level. Waste no time in taking it out, then continue down the path. Just ahead, you will spot a loft with two archers inside. Take 'em out, then use the wooden structure nearby to jump up to the loft and collect the ammo stored in the barrels (you can max out your Carbine supply).
Continue through the cave tunnel and listen for Cassidy's warning of Keggers. The Keggers will come from around the corner in single file, so stay sharp and intercept them before they get anywhere close to you. Further around the bend, you will see an explosive barrel fly out of nowhere and land in front of you. Quickly backpedal to avoid the blast, then rush forward to take out the archers and chuckers in the area.
you will fight through a good number of enemies before reaching an opening in the ground that drops to a lower tunnel. Fall down, ready to take out the Oozer that immediately spawns ahead of you. Use the ammo from both of your weapons (Carbine and Dual Pistols are good) to avoid reloading—you should be able to take out the enemy without suffering any damage.
Another blood judgement opportunity will present itself. Make your judgement, then head up the path to take on more chuckers and archers. you will encounter a number of these guys as you move forward to reach a ruined village.
Take to the rooftops of the village and lure the enemies towards you. By sticking to these small platforms, you can limit the number of enemies that engage you at any time. you will also find an offering from Lazarus on a building top to the left.
As you near the gate, a Mark of Evil will appear. there is dynamite right in front of the Mark — grab it if you need to before unloading on the Mark. Destroy the Mark to get through the door and continue to the next area.
you will stay in this general area for a while as you fight off multiple waves of enemies. The first horde comes from the front, a pack of Vipers that attack you (mostly) one at a time. Stay in the open area and take the Vipers out with blasts from powerful weapons (Shotgun and Dual Pistols work well). Watch out for the open pits, though — there are easy to fall in if you lose track of them and start backpedaling.
After a bit of fighting, enemies will start pouring in from behind you. You can enter the building and follow the ramp to the rooftop to intercept them as they come, and take advantage of the relatively small fighting arena. If things get too sticky, you can leap off the building to quickly evade your foes and rethink your strategy. There are tons of explosive barrels lying around so use them to your advantage.
Hold your ground and fend off the swarm of enemies until the progress meter is depleted. The level will automatically end, returning you to the citadel.
